My family and I love this plate of mixed greens. It is stuffed with a wide range of delectability. Prepared ground hamburger, dark beans, cheddar, lettuce and remember the Nacho cheddar Doritos. 😀 They make the plate of mixed greens!

This Doritos Taco Salad meets up in pretty much 20 minutes tops! Plates of mixed greens like this are my go-to for simple and straightforward meals. I particularly love to make them throughout the mid year, so we don't need to turn on the stove.

The variant I'm sharing today is truly essential, however completely scrumptious, and the one I ordinarily make. Some of the time we include corn, cleaved green onion and even go through various dressings to blend things. I've even utilized the Ranch enhanced Doritos rather than the nacho cheddar, and it's quite amazing with those, as well.

In particular, with any serving of mixed greens, is the dressing. Don't hesitate to utilize your preferred dressing! You don't need to utilize Catalina dressing. Some of the time I serve it with farm as well. It's tasty in any case!

Ingredients :

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 packet (1.25 oz) taco seasoning
  • 2 Romaine lettuce hearts, rinsed then chopped
  • 1 cup black beans, rinsed
  • 1 large tomato, seeded then chopped
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1½ cups nacho cheese Doritos, broken into bite size pieces
  • 1 cup Catalina dressing OR use your favorite salad dressing (we like to eat this with ranch dressing too)

Instructions :

  1. Brown and crumble ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain grease. Add taco seasoning and water called for on packet. Stir until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let meat cool slightly.
  2. In a large salad bowl add chopped lettuce, black beans, tomato and cheese. Add slightly cooled ground beef and gently toss to combine everything. Serve now, or chill in refrigerator until ready to eat. (Don't add chips until ready to serve.)
  3. When ready to serve, add Doritos chips and dressing to salad. Toss to coat. Serve.
